Hankook IK01/ION EVO

IK01/ION EVO
The Hankook iON evo IK01 is a premium tyre purpose-built for high-performance electric passenger cars and sports sedans. The passenger car companion to the iON evo SUV, the IK01 takes the same groundbreaking iON INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY platform and fine-tunes it specifically for the handling, steering, and braking demands of performance-oriented electric cars. Achieving the coveted EU label hat-trick — top grades across rolling resistance, wet grip, and noise simultaneously — the iON evo IK01 is engineered to extract up to 9% more driving range from a single charge, deliver shorter braking distances, and wrap it all in a near-silent ride that matches the refinement of today’s best electric performance vehicles. For drivers of performance EVs who refuse to compromise on any dimension, this is the tyre.

features and Benefits

  • EU label hat-trick — top grade in rolling resistance, wet grip, and noise: Achieving Grade A across all three EU label categories simultaneously is exceptionally rare in the tyre industry — and in an EV-exclusive tyre, it is a first — confirming the iON evo IK01 doesn’t trade performance in one area to excel in another
  • ProGrip Compound with EVolution silica-rich tread: High-concentration silica combined with eco-friendly materials delivers superior adhesion to road surfaces in both dry and wet conditions, while simultaneously reducing rolling resistance to extend driving range — achieving up to 9% more range from a single battery charge
  • Aramid Hybrid Reinforcement Belt: Reinforces the tyre’s belt structure to maintain the optimised contact patch shape at highway speeds and under the lateral loads of hard cornering, improving steering performance and handling stability for performance EV drivers
  • EV Contour Technology with 10% increased cornering stiffness: Specifically engineered for electric vehicle dynamics, increasing cornering rigidity to enhance grip, handling precision, and steering response under the weight and instant torque delivery of EV drivetrains
  • Round Even Technology with optimised contact patch distribution: EVs are up to 30% heavier than ICE vehicles, causing tyres to wear up to 20% faster and unevenly — Round Even Technology distributes contact pressure uniformly across the full footprint, significantly extending tread life and reducing irregular wear
  • Hankook Sound Absorber Technology with acoustic foam layer: Reduces cabin tyre noise by up to 9dB — because in a near-silent EV, tyre noise is the dominant sound in the cabin, and this foam layer disperses road surface noise and absorbs internal shock before it reaches the driver
  • Optimised lateral groove geometry — narrow inside, wide outside: The inner lateral grooves are designed narrower to reduce air-pumping noise at the source, while the outer grooves are wider to maintain strong drainage and wet grip performance — a genuine double advantage without compromise
  • Optimised groove sizing with expanded inner drainage grooves: Prevents groove resonance noise while simultaneously improving drainage performance through wider inner channels — another example of the iON evo’s engineering philosophy of advancing two performance areas simultaneously
  • Opti Pitch Technology with optimised multi-pitch sequencing: Dramatically reduces tread pattern noise by precisely optimising the number and size of tread pitches — working alongside the Sound Absorber for a comprehensively quiet and refined driving experience at all speeds

In order for us to give you an accurate quote it is handy to have your tyre size to hand. The easiest way to find this is to look on the sidewall of your existing tyre, where you will see a combination of numbers and letters.

Width: (this is the first set of numbers) and represents the width of the tyre sidewall in Millimetres.

Profile: This is the height of the sidewall as a percentage of the width of the tyre

Rim: This is the diameter of the inner rim in inches

When looking for your tyre size note down the size of both the front and rear tyres as many cars have been developed with two different sizes.
