Maxxis Liberty ML3

ML3
The Maxxis Liberty ML3 is Maxxis’s finest desert racing UTV tyre — a podium-proven, race-pedigreed all-terrain tyre that brings competition-level performance to every ride. Inspired by light truck off-road tyre design and developed from Maxxis’s Bighorn MT-762 truck tyre platform, the Liberty ML3 is engineered to excel on hardpack, intermediate soils, rocky terrain, desert, silt, sand, and roots — delivering ultimate on and off-road control with a specialised rubber compound that manages the rare trick of being genuinely soft for traction while resisting wear at an extraordinary level. A frequent choice of SCORE and Best in the Desert racers, and podium-proven at the Baja 500, the Liberty ML3 is the tyre for riders who demand race-proven performance without compromise.

Features and Benefits

  • Maxxis’s best desert racing UTV tyre: Developed as the pinnacle of Maxxis’s desert and hardpack UTV tyre offering — the Liberty ML3 is the go-to choice for SCORE and Best in the Desert racers, and has podiumed at the Baja 500, confirming its credentials at the highest level of UTV desert competition.
  • Light truck-inspired design from the Bighorn MT-762 platform: Draws directly from Maxxis’s proven Bighorn MT-762 light truck tyre engineering — bringing the structural toughness, tread depth, and compound technology of a serious off-road truck tyre into the UTV world for riders who want that level of performance on their machine.
  • Specialised soft rubber compound for supreme traction and exceptional wear resistance: The Liberty’s compound is specifically formulated to deliver a soft feel for outstanding grip on rocks, roots, desert terrain, and hardpack — while resisting wear at a level that defies the typical soft compound trade-off, with riders reporting 3,000–3,500 miles before significant wear is noticeable.
  • Aggressive lug tread pattern with high void ratio: Widely spaced aggressive lugs deliver powerful traction on hardpack, intermediate soils, desert, silt, sand, and rocky terrain — with the high void ratio actively clearing debris from the contact patch for consistent grip across rapidly changing surface conditions.
  • Wraparound shoulder lugs for enhanced lateral traction: Lugs wrap aggressively around the shoulder for strong lateral grip in ruts, corners, and off-camber sections — keeping the UTV planted and tracking accurately when conditions demand precise control.
  • 8-ply radial construction for heavy loads and high speeds: The robust 8-ply radial casing supports heavy loads and delivers maximum stability at the higher speeds of modern performance UTVs — with the radial construction absorbing trail impacts and rocky hits without flinching, even at reduced tyre pressures.
  • Exceeds DOT test standards: The Liberty ML3 exceeds DOT testing requirements — confirming its structural integrity and safety credentials for demanding use across a wide range of terrain and conditions.
  • Outstanding ride comfort at reduced pressures: Real-world riders consistently praise the Liberty’s ride comfort, particularly at slightly reduced PSI — the flexible compound and radial construction absorb large rock hits and rough terrain with composure that makes longer trail rides significantly more comfortable.
  • Excellent on hardpack, rock, desert, silt, sand, mud, and roots: Genuinely versatile across the widest range of terrain types — performing confidently in every condition from granite rock crawling to deep silt and desert racing without losing its edge in any of them.

In order for us to give you an accurate quote it is handy to have your tyre size to hand. The easiest way to find this is to look on the sidewall of your existing tyre, where you will see a combination of numbers and letters.

Width: (this is the first set of numbers) and represents the width of the tyre sidewall in Millimetres.

Profile: This is the height of the sidewall as a percentage of the width of the tyre

Rim: This is the diameter of the inner rim in inches

When looking for your tyre size note down the size of both the front and rear tyres as many cars have been developed with two different sizes.
