Maxxis Premitra 6 HP6

HP6
The Maxxis Premitra 6 HP6 is a modern premium touring tyre engineered for passenger cars and SUVs that prioritise confident everyday handling, a quiet and comfortable ride, and efficient fuel consumption. The next-generation successor to the well-regarded Premitra HP5, the HP6 raises the bar with an updated green silica compound, an advanced asymmetric tread design, and refined noise reduction technology — delivering a tyre that’s strong in dry conditions, well-mannered on the motorway, and notably quiet underfoot. Launched alongside the Victra Sport 6 at The Tire Cologne 2024 and available in 65 sizes from 15 to 18 inches, the HP6 is a practical, well-rounded touring tyre for drivers who value comfort and efficiency in their everyday driving.

Features and Benefits

  • Advanced asymmetric tread pattern: Optimises cornering stability and balanced handling performance by positioning different tread geometries on the inner and outer sections of the tread — improving overall grip distribution and confident, composed handling.
  • Green silica compound technology: State-of-the-art silica reinforcement improves the rubber compound’s wear resistance while simultaneously reducing rolling resistance — delivering improved fuel efficiency and longer tread life in a single compound formulation.
  • Modern premium rubber compound with reduced rolling resistance: Refined rubber technology minimises energy loss as the tyre rolls, contributing to lower fuel consumption and higher overall mileage — a practical benefit for everyday drivers covering regular kilometres on New Zealand roads.
  • Four wide circumferential grooves for water evacuation: Efficiently channel water away from the contact patch to reduce aquaplaning risk and maintain wet weather grip and braking confidence — particularly relevant for New Zealand’s frequently wet road conditions.
  • Solid centre rib: Provides continuous road contact for enhanced steering precision and high-speed stability, keeping the tyre tracking accurately and responding predictably at motorway speeds.
  • Reinforcement elements in shoulder blocks: Deliver exceptional grip and unwavering stability through corners and lane changes, adapting to varied driving conditions and maintaining composure under dynamic loads.
  • Narrow transverse grooves along outer tread edges: Specifically positioned to reduce tyre rolling noise resonance, ensuring a noticeably quieter cabin experience — one of the HP6’s standout qualities in real-world driving and owner feedback.
  • Optimised tread block design for ride comfort and noise reduction: The tread block arrangement is tuned to minimise road-generated noise frequencies, contributing to the refined, comfortable driving experience the Premitra range is known for.
  • EV compatible construction: Available in sizes and speed ratings suited to electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, handling the additional weight and torque requirements of modern EVs without compromising ride quality or tread life.

In order for us to give you an accurate quote it is handy to have your tyre size to hand. The easiest way to find this is to look on the sidewall of your existing tyre, where you will see a combination of numbers and letters.

Width: (this is the first set of numbers) and represents the width of the tyre sidewall in Millimetres.

Profile: This is the height of the sidewall as a percentage of the width of the tyre

Rim: This is the diameter of the inner rim in inches

When looking for your tyre size note down the size of both the front and rear tyres as many cars have been developed with two different sizes.
